Liverpool are yet to offer Mohamed Salah a new contract. Despite the 31-year-old forward entering the final year of his current deal.

But while Salah is admittedly a top performer well into his 30s. He has played out the final 10 months of his contract without an extension.

James Pearce of The Athletic reports there is no sign of an offer to extend Salah’s stay at Anfield.

“It is well known that Liverpool’s owners are wary of giving big-money contracts to players over the age of 30.

There have been no expressions of dissatisfaction from the player or his agent about the situation. But whether it will be considered a positive outcome is another question.

Mohamed Salah has been a long-term target for the Saudi Arabian side. And their Public Investment Fund are reportedly set to wait to sign him on a free transfer rather than try and make another big-money bid as they did last summer.
